Q. Is it a safe area to camp in?
A. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee safety or security but North Truro is a rural area and most locals would tell you it is generally considered a safe place to live and vacation. We rarely experience crime in the campground and do our best to maintain our campers' safety with security staff, security gates, and all animals on a leash policy and strongly urge our guests to be aware of dangers around them, observe the no-fire law, lock their doors, keep valuables in a safe place and bring a first aid kit with them. The Truro Police and Ambulance Service are a short distance away.

Q. Do you allow campfires, fireworks, contained fireplaces and tiki torches? A. No, due to high fire danger, we are sorry but these are not allowed by law. Solar Tiki Torches and BBQ units that are at least 2 feet up off the ground are acceptable provided they burn charcoal (BBQ coals) only (no wood burning allowed except on local beaches with a fire permit obtained from the Truro Beach Office)

Q. Do you have a problem with wild animals and insects?
A.Not always but some times it can be worse than another. Camping is an outdoor pursuit and the area around us is forest with few human inhabitants therefore it is impossible to restrict the access of these birds, insects and animals. Wild animals commonly found in our area are raccoons, skunks, coyotes and crows and a variety of insects. To discourage pesky critters we pick up trash from in front of each campsite at regular intervals daily between 9 am and 6 pm. (trash bags are available for sale in the camp store). We also ask our guests to assist by not leaving trash, dirty dishes, food or open drink containers around campsites for any length of time and remember that fish cleaning is restricted to our fish cleaning table near our trash dumpster area. We recommend guests bring them insect repellent and a first aid kit.
